Version 1.0 is out! Here's all the news
Hello, everyone!
The game is finally complete! It's been a couple of very intense weeks, and I am super excited to share all the new stuff with you. There's just so much I'll have a hard time remembering everything, but let's try:
- 102 pages, 195 tables. This is the final size of the game, way beyond the original 60 pages. But I don't think it is bloated, everything I added, I did with purpose! No extra rules, just clear procedures and a bunch of tables for inspiration.
- Settlement exploration. I am so happy with this one. Near 20 pages and 30 tables to create the settlements as you explored them! That's right, you draw the map with a POV method. I had a blast playtesting (check the image below for an example)
- Crafting. 4 pages and 10 tables to create ordinary and long-term projects, from meals to weapons. Narrative-based, no number-crushing.
- Search and camping. Simple procedures to hunt, gather, scavenge, scout and set camp in the wilderness.
- Table index. The full list of all 195 tables with page numbers, theme, and hyperlinks.
- 291 bookmarks and 572 links. This is the most comprehensive reference work I've done in any of my games. Every table or rules reference is hyperlinked, so you can navigate easily throughout the book. The table of contents on the side panel will also take you anywhere.
- Character sheet. 4 variations, including a form-fillable one with clickable resource tracking. Pretty cool.
- Map template. It is just a page with a 6x6 grid, but still.
- Art and layout. Everything polished now. Art and layout are final.
- Bureaucracy. Page numbers, table numbers, content page. All taken care of.
- Full revision. Polished all the text, caught some typos. Refined the use of the Game Machine (all dice based now, no more pointing fingers)
Now, the game is complete, but it is not done. Here's what is left to do and why:
- The Book of Tables
- Printer-friendly version
- Print-on-demand versions
I am intentionally giving it a few more days to catch typos or other mistakes before I send those out, because I don't want you to print or order a book only to find out there are errors in it! :) So if you look through the book now and find anything, please let me know. I'll fix it, and then I'll update the page with the other PDFs and the coupons for the PoD versions (which, by the way, since we've crossed 100 pages, can now have a decent hardcover option as well!).
That's it for today! I am super happy with this game, and I hope it provides you and your friends with a great time.
Talk to you soon!
– Cezar
