Version 0.9 is out! Changelog and updates
Happy New Year, everyone!
First of all, I'd like to say thank you very much for your support. I've launched this campaign at the end of the year, and never imagined the kind of attention it received. Seeing that my little idea resonated with so many of you is really heartwarming. I couldn't ask for a better start to my year!
Now, I was expecting to deliver the final version today. I know that one week after a crowdfunding is over is a very short turnaround time for the industry standard, but I prefer to work that way (not only because I already have the next project lined up).
However, I had a terrible sinusitis crisis that knocked me back for 5 days. I tried to push through it, but couldn't sit down for more than 15 minutes at a time. I'm back on my feet now, and the last week has been of intense production! Considering all the love this game received, I'm really committed to make it the best I can.
So I am releasing an updated beta today, with a bunch of cool new stuff I made (we're over 150 tables now!). Without further ado, here's the changelog:
- Added explanation on how to gain and spend Resources
- Added explanation on how to gain and lose Traits
- Added 6 'Starting Situation' tables based on your starting resources to develop some backstory
- Added tables to explore the wind/winter theme in the worldbuilding phase
- Added tables to Mood and Sight in the Exploration Phase
- Split the Events into Land and Sea
- Added 10+ tables for encounters, including a monster generator
- Added 10+ tables for features and hazards
- Devised all the procedures for Delving (I'm quite excited about this one, 12 pages, 35 tables and a tight procedure for a narrative-focused dungeon crawling experience)
And here's what's left to do:
- Fix all art and polish the layout
- Revise all table numbers and references (don't trust them now!)
- Polish a few procedures (Settlements, Crafting, Search)
- Create the character Sheet
- Create the book of tables (I'm thinking of making it available as a spiral bound PoD as well, what do you think?)
- The bureaucracy (page numbers, content page, hyperlinks, PoD link)
- Final revision and proofreading
It feels like a lot, but the bulk of it is done, now. I've considered not releasing this beta and just letting you know it would take a few more days to finish the final version, but I wanted to assure you that progress has been made (and I can't wait for you to see the new tables and procedures, I think they are super fun). We went from 60 to 82 pages!
Anyway, thanks again for your continuous support, and I can't wait to deliver the final version for you soon! I'm truly pouring my heart and soul in this beauty.

Someone else who suffers severe sinusitis! Mine is usually worse standing or lying down. I know - it's like a bad head cold and hayfever combined.
Hot showers are the only thing that helps me.

I haven't even bought this game yet but it's still exciting to read about your progress! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm definitely picking this up when its finished.
As to making a book of tables I think that's a great idea. I have a dungeon crawling game where the rules are in one book and all the tables are in another. It makes playing it much easier. The other alternative is to replicate all tables at the back, but that ramps up the page count. Your final option is to merely reference the tables in the main text of the book and have all the tables grouped at the end of the book. I have seen all of these options and all of them are great. The only choice I wouldn't favour is not picking one of them as any table heavy game can lead to a lot of bothersome flicking backwards and forwards between pages.
