You're a duo of space scoundrels that just pulled off a much-needed job—or at least, you thought you did. You and your partner-in-crime have managed to “acquire” a shabby spaceship, but before you could even take it for a proper joyride through the cosmos, it got impounded! Now, your beloved (and definitely-not-stolen) vessel is locked away in a government impound lot, guarded by a no-nonsense agent who’s not easily fooled.
Your mission? Convince this overly diligent agent that the ship is rightfully yours. How? By weaving a tale so outrageous and detailed that they can’t help but believe you. You’ll describe every detail of your spaceship—where you got the parts, the mishaps along the way, and even the peculiar dents and scratches—while you both sketch it out. But here’s the catch: you’ll be each drawing half of the ship without seeing the other’s work. If your drawings align perfectly when you’re done, the agent will have no choice but to release your ship. If not… well, you’d better start thinking of another plan. Good luck!

Hunk o' Junk is a two-player game (with solo and 3-player variants) of cosmic creativity, outrageous storytelling, and questionable spaceship ownership. You play as a pair of space scoundrels who just got hold of a dubious spaceship, but your victory lap got cut short when some killjoy government agent impounded your new ride!

Now you're stuck trying to convince this by-the-book bureaucrat that you're the rightful owners of this... er, unique vessel. Armed with nothing but your wits, a wild imagination, and a couple of pencils, you'll need to spin a tale so elaborate and detailed that even the most skeptical agent can't help but believe you.

Taking turns, you're each drawing half of the ship without peeking at your partner's masterpiece, adding more details as you go. As you invent outrageous tales, you must slip in some clues to let your partner know where to add the same element in their half of the drawing, without making it obvious to the agent that you're trying to coordinate your stories.

After a handful of rounds, you put your sketches together for the final review. If your drawings line up when you're done, you'll fly away in your beautiful bucket of bolts. If not... well, it's time to get creative with Plan B!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Flexible Fun: Adaptable for 1 to 3 players. You can fly it solo, team up as a duo (default mode), or add a third player as the skeptical agent!
  • No Artistic Skills Required: Can't draw to save your life? Perfect! The worse your sketching skills, the more "authentic" your ship looks. Embrace the chaos!
  • Tables of Madness: Roll on random tables for ridiculous ship features, space misadventures, and more! Your ship might be held together by duct tape and tall tales, but that’s part of the charm.
  • Craft Unique Spaceships: Every game creates a one-of-a-kind vessel. You can even take the final product and play your favorite space opera game with it (if you manage to convince the agent, that is).
  • Laugh Your Asteroids Off: With the absurd tales you craft and the mismatched drawings, Hunk o’ Junk guarantees a good laugh. When you finally reveal your mismatched sketches, even the stern-faced agent might crack a smile!

In space, no one can hear you scheme... but they can definitely see your terrible drawings. Good luck, space scoundrels!

Played three games tonight as a family. We decided we got our ship twice and failed once. We had lots of fun and lots of laughs. A wonderful game!

There is a typo in the first part of the instructions, should be “no-nonsense”.

That's awesome, thank you so much for sharing! And for catching the typo, I've just fixed it!

Looks delightful, eager to play it with my daughter!

Glad to hear that, thank you!
