OF WEIRD, WHIMSY & WONDER!

What Is This?

Cosmoira is a one-page myth-maker.

With only a standard deck of cards and a set of evocative prompts, you and your fellow players take on the roles of primordial gods, shaping the birth and fate of a world of your own creation.

From the first spark of existence to the terraforming of continents, you’ll guide your gods through the rise and fall of ages: forging dramatic alliances and rivalries, creating avatars and wonders, enduring cataclysms that reshape the land, and populating it with elder beings before passing it on to mortal kin.

Your story carries the world to the twilight before its “First Age” — the dawn of the modern era — leaving behind a map, a myth, and a legacy entirely unique to your table.

Highlights

  • Solo or coop: Play with 1–6 players, no game master required. The rules and prompts guide you step-by-step through the ages.
  • All in one page: Rules on the front, a hex-based map on the back. Shape and reshape the land across ages of play until your world takes its final form.
  • Cooperative competition: Gods may clash in wars and rivalries, but together the players weave the shared myth of their world.
  • More than a map: In just a couple of hours, you’ll create a living, breathing mythos of a vibrant world, and the story of how it came to be.

Example of Play

Here’s the resulting map from my latest playtest:

What is not picture here is the whole myth behind it:

  • A god of Fire and Song erects a spire in defiance of the original forces.
  • A kin of living wood emerges from a rift to the fae realm.
  • A colossal avatar lies slain in the ocean depths, its titanic bones now home to a people who live upon floating platforms.

All of it, from divine conflict to mortal migrations, emerged naturally from the prompts and procedures of this single-page game.

An engaging worldbuilding experience! I played it solo and the tools/tables provided gave just enough of a spark to help me come up with unique and unexpected results. Would love to see this developed beyond the one page version!

Thank you so much, glad you had a good time!

It's very kind of you to provide this for free for your backers. Looks really compact and cool. The table/hex map combo is really inventive. Looking forward to your future innovations!

Thank you so much, that's really kind!

Heya, this looks amazing! How do backers get this as well? Is it an additional reward sent by backerkit, or do we need to do anything additional?

Hey, there!

Thank you so much!

Super excited to worldbuild! If you have it conveniently somewhere, could you also upload a table each of the Envision and Name prompts, just for convenience at the table? Otherwise it's okay, I can do it up for myself =))

Let me see if I can cook something up here! :)

Done! Went ahead and created a version of the map without the words too, if that helps. Enjoy! ^^
