So that's how you treat people who support you? Make them pay again for an upgrade on a digital pdf? The physical is different, this is a file. List of things I've purchased and enjoyed from you:
Triple-O
Kismet
The Kismet companion when it was a seperate purchase
Random Realities
So you're fine folding one equally as expensive purchase into another for an overall reduced price with the kismet companion bit, but you're gonna make people buy Triple-O again? And if you fold it in like you did the kisemt bit, more wasted money? I enjoy your stuff. It's great! This is greedy behaviour. I won't bump down my rating or some petry crap like that, but come on man.
Thank you for being so honest, and for everything you've supported over the years. Triple-O, Kismet, the companion, Random Realities. That means a lot, genuinely.
I want to offer you a complimentary copy, no discount needed. You've more than earned it, and I'm happy to do it.
I also want to gently share something, not to argue, but because I think it matters: what looks like "just a file" from the outside is closer to a hundred hours of work on my end, made through chronic back pain, and in this case, also through grief after losing my dog.
I pour everything into these projects, and I've also distributed thousands of free community copies over the years, gladly and without question, because I believe in letting people support independent work on their own terms.
I don't take offense at your frustration. Everyone is carrying something we can't always see, and I choose to assume the best. I hope you'll accept the complimentary copy in the spirit it's offered.
That is... fair. I apologize for being a bit gruff. I know losing a pet is not damn easy, and I have a taste of back pain myself, due to both physical deformities and poor self care. I alsp appreciate the offer for a copy, but still that is less my concern.
I suppose I'm at a deadlock here. Business practice principles, I do think the upgraded copy should go to those who already purchased, and the price raised appropriately for future purchases by those who have not already done so. On the other hand, yes this shit takes a toll and time and effort. Even my shitty plain text experiments can be draining. It's understandable to want a fair reward. So, I'll leave that decision to you. Sorry for coming in hot, I've been stressed as hell lately.
OK very strange question but do you think you could use Triple-O to play *non-tabletop* rpgs? There’s this rpg that I enjoy playing but I’ve gotten too good at it. I’d love to explore it from the lense of someone new to the game, just using the triple O system for decision making.
Hi! I have a quick question about the BackerKit campaign and the itch.io version.
I haven’t bought the current one-page PDF here on itch.io yet, but I’m planning to support the BackerKit campaign. Do you plan for BackerKit backers to get access to the one-page PDF through this itch.io product (for example via updates or added files), or will the digital files be distributed only through BackerKit?
Related to that: if I back the project, is the one-page PDF available immediately, or only later during or after the campaign?
1. Yes, all the PDF products will be distributed via itch. I am currently considering if I'll make a separate itch page for the zine version (if only because itch has given me some trouble with that in past projects) or if I just bite the bullet and use this one and deal with whatever hiccups might happen as they come.
2. You know, I was going to make them available only after the campaign (because it is a manual import of emails, and as pledges come in I'd have to add them one by one) but you gave me a good idea. I think I'll add the one-page version as an update on BackerKit so backers have immediate access to it, even if it's a standalone PDF and not an access to this itch page, if that makes sense.
Came here because of a certain parrot solo ttrpg vtuber, and I was not disappointed. Thank you so much for creating a simple and effective system, and thanks also to Hime Utsugi for recommending this to me!
Thank you for including a printer-friendly version!
I don’t suppose you could upload a middle-ground version: same as the 2-page main version, but no background? For printing at home in color, but without needing to crop the white off the edges.
Phenomenal! I’ve been looking for something like this or just winging it for a while now, and Triple-O is exactly right! I first stumbled across Random Realities and figured I’d check out your other work, and I’m glad I did.
Ok, so, I do wanna ask still even if it is CC-BY-SA 4.0, could I adapt this into a solo wargaming opponent ai and incorporate it into a wargame I'm in the brainstroming process of?
Wow! This seems quite popular, congrats! And well deserving. This is exactly the tool I need. I hadn’t thought of approaching things this way and it has been and elegant solution so far. Thanks!
I am immersed in trying to create a purely character driven solo RPG.
Then you release this!
Thank you.
My idea was, like yours, to focus on all the character traits. I am getting bogged down with trying to assemble inspirational tables to help generate traits.
Once you have a fully fleshed out character, when you have to ask "what happens next?" - randomly select a trait and use that to advance the narrative.
Woah - this is a great tool! Really unique and interesting - I can see how it will work well and I can’t wait to use it!
Out of interest, what size font do you use in these layouts? The 4-column layout works really well and it’s clearly readable, without looking cramped like I would have thought it would.

Will prior purchasers on itch be recieving the pdf of the zine version for free?
Hello Tobi,
Not exactly, but I'll offer a special discount, as I did for the physical version :)
So that's how you treat people who support you? Make them pay again for an upgrade on a digital pdf? The physical is different, this is a file. List of things I've purchased and enjoyed from you:

Thank you for caring enough to say something.

Hi Tobi,
It's all good, stress can do that to all of us. I appreciate the open conversation.
The complimentary copy offer stands, and your point about prior purchasers is fair, and genuinely something I'll think on.
Take care of yourself, and I hope you have a great weekend!
Salve. Existe tradução para pt?
Salve! Existe, sim. Disponível aqui, só entrar em Meus Jogos em Português :)

Gotta say, never considered that, but boy am I excited with the idea! Yeah, I mean, 100%! Seems like a great fit, actually.
Thanks in advance for the clarification!
Hi there! Ok, so:

That's exactly what I had hoped!
I already backed you, and just downloaded the 1-page-version!
I wanted to reply yesterday already, but Itch didn't allow me... IDK :D
Appreciate your support! Hope you enjoy it!

I'm glad you liked it! And also thanks to them for the recommendation, that warms my heart!
Sorry, I don't get the reference - "parrot solo ttrpg vtuber"?
It's a Youtube channel! It's called Hime Utsugi and they review and stream solo TTRPGs
Great ruleset, is basically the missing piece of my solo puzzle!
Glad to hear that, thank you!
Hi! Can I get a community copy please?
There will be more as soon as I'm done with the current project and have some time to go over sales!
Let me know when you do, okay?
Hi there! Yes, I can! Just updated the game with the suggested version. Hope you enjoy it!
Looks awesome definitely on my to buy list

Yes, absolutely! Go for it! ^^
Nice, I like the O, O, O in particular.
Thank you very much!
Fantastic tool!
Thank you so much! ^^

I really appreciate that, thank you!
Fantastic tool. Gonna use this on some adventures getting dust on the shelf! And btw, awesome design too, as always!
Thank you, Lucas, that’s very kind!
Very creative approach. Can't wait to use it to test my current world building efforts! Also love the design.
I appreciate your kind words, thank you!
Well, it's original and weird, turning the tables from the "GM generator" to the "characters behavior generator". Take my money just for the idea 😁
Thanks, appreciate your support!

Love that approach! I can see it being a fun solo experience
Eu vi a ideia brilhante! Quando gui atras do autor, era o Capacle! Heheh so podia ser o Capacle! 💖😁

I’m using size 8 for body text and 15-17 for headings.
Got it - I might do some experimenting with my layouts with that in mind. Your design work is always awesome to see.
Really appreciate that, thank you!
